Historically our group was established in 1967 from Kostas Michaelas distributing oil and petrol to farmers in the area of Larnaca. These were the difficult times since one can image the vehicles available and the efforts needed having raw materials in barrels. The operation started from a small village at that time, Aradipou and fuel used were from Shell. In 1968 when Shell company changed hands to BP (British Petroleum) and N. Michaelas was to exclusive distributor for the area of BP.
When the Turkish invasion took place the company restructured its services and became the major gas cylinder distributed covering all Cyprus. In addition the company distributed oil and fuels via its owned vehicles throughout Cyprus. The core of the business continued to be the Petrol station which was then build in the area of Aradipou.
The company expanded by having its H.Q. self owned Gas station. At that point BP was sold to EKO and the company continued its operations as EKO covering the distribution of all Cyprus
In 2000 Mr. Pavlos Michaelas was the General Manager of the group.
In 2001 the group bought a petrol station located at the area of Kalo Chorio which is the main cross over location for all cities in Cyprus.
In 2003 the group bought a petrol ZAFOIL SERVICES LTD in order to expand its distribution channel and strengthen its presence in the area.
In 2005 the group bought a petrol NOTIS FUEL LTDin order to expand its distribution channel and strengthen its presence in that area as well.
In 2009 the group bought a petrol KNM CITYOIL LTD in order to expand its distribution channel and strengthen its presence in that area as well.
In 2010 we have expanded by building a unique Gas cylinders warehouse 9277 square meters of area self owned. Fully secured up to international standards. In addition to this two large vehicles ADR compliant worth over 500K euros of investment. Furthermore, 4 super track vehicles for the transportation of Cylinders were purchased to cover the distribution of gas in all Cyprus. Least and not last. We have marked our own “Michaelas Gas Cylinder”.
The group completed a branding image with renovating the H.Q. with an overall investment over 1.5 Million Euros.
